Controller

Jonathan Aechtner, Parkstr. 10, 02699 Neschwitz, Germany, is responsible for personal data processed through this website. You can contact me at jona@aechtner.com; further details are in the imprint.

Hosting and technical delivery

This static website is served through Cloudflare Pages. When a page is requested, Cloudflare processes technical connection and request data, including IP address, time, requested URL, referrer, browser and device information, and response and security data. This is needed to deliver and secure the website and diagnose service issues. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation.

Recipients include Cloudflare, Inc., its affiliates and, where applicable, subprocessors. Cloudflare may process data outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare describes transfer mechanisms, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, in its Data Processing Addendum. Retention periods depend on the data and purpose; Cloudflare explains its criteria in its Privacy Policy. I do not create visitor profiles or use separate web analytics.

Cookies, analytics and fonts

This website does not use analytics or advertising services, tracking cookies, or local storage for profiling. Fonts are served by this website, so loading a page does not connect to Google Fonts. Static files may be cached by the browser to display the site.

External links

The website links to external sites such as LinkedIn, Amsterdam UMC, Exersight and DOI pages. It does not embed content from those services. Your device connects to the relevant provider only when you open a link; that provider's privacy notice then applies.

Email enquiries

If you email jona@aechtner.com, I process your sender details and message to respond. Email is delivered and stored through Apple's iCloud Mail. Apple may process data through affiliates and service providers outside the European Economic Area; see Apple's Privacy Notice for information about its processing and international transfers. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (responding to enquiries) and, where your enquiry concerns entering into a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Correspondence is deleted once the enquiry is resolved unless legal retention duties or legitimate reasons require it to be kept longer. Sending information by email is voluntary; without sufficient contact details, a reply may not be possible.

Your rights

Subject to the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, contact the email address in the imprint.

Automated decisions

This website does not use profiling or automated decision-making.
